What happens when we build an aware and conscious people who not only send their children to study music with a teacher but are actively engaged in the process. What if we started with the whole family in the practice of learning, making, sharing and preserving our story through music? Would it make a difference? Would this art be more meaningfully sustained?
Black Music Village curates groundbreaking concerts and cultural programming that spotlight classically and jazz-trained Black and African musicians who are fusing indigenous sounds of hi-life, afro and art songs with these western influenced sound —bridging diaspora communities, touring A-list artists, and discerning Canadian audiences through a bold, professional celebration of African art music.
